Improve Safety and Security

District-wide security projects include security camera upgrades, security film and security fencing
Security projects in the bond include fencing, badge readers on exterior doors, and security camera upgrades
Fencing will allow KISD to work toward meeting compliance with TEA standards
Due to space limitations, teachers at Kaufman High School are instructing classes in the Hall of Fame area, on a cafeteria stage, and in a teacher’s lounge
Norman Junior High currently is using portable buildings as additional classroom space to meet the demands of enrollment growth

Address Aging Facilities & Create More Student Space

This campus is at functional capacity and enrollment continues to increase.

Safety and Security additions and upgrades
Replacement of existing gym
Interior renovations and upgrades, including flooring, ceilings, restrooms, doors, and library
Replacement of exterior elements, including windows and exterior canopies
Address drainage and traffic flow around the campus
Mechanical/Plumbing/Electrical upgrades/replacement

A replacement campus on the existing site to serve 1,200 students and built out in two phases
New construction will open up space at the current junior high building to resolve capacity issues at the high school

Site for the new junior high will require the relocation of the current Ag Barn
The proposed Ag Barn will include classrooms, restrooms and other Ag-related amenities such as animal grooming and feeding stations
The Ag Barn will serve multiple career pathway opportunities (CTE) for students, including Animal Science, Vet Tech, Ag Mechanics, and more
